Senior Sales Executive - Industrial/Commercial Roofing

Having established a reputation for quality and service our client, a rapidly growing industrial and commercial roofing contractor was keen to recruit a professional, industry - experienced salesperson to capitalise on their market presence and reputation, drive sales and spearhead their continued growth. 

This role was seen as a key appointment for the future of the company and having unsuccessfully recruited for the position on two separate occasions (once using a specialist construction industry agency and once from networking within the industry) Standley Associates were retained to recruit this ‘hard to fill’, business critical position.

Taking a full brief from the MD and gaining a full understanding of the potential issues surrounding the recruitment of this role Standley Associates set about identifying the potential sources of suitable candidates from within the industry.  Utilising our Executive Search Methodology complemented by selected social media and job board advertising we were very soon able to commence a series of approaches and briefing and interviewing of potential candidates (maintaining client confidentiality up to client interview stage).

Due to the nature of this role despite having approached 5 potential candidates for the role, after exhaustive interviewing it was decided only one candidate was suitable for submission and interview by the client.  Following interview and assessment by the client and an associated professional services supplier this candidate was offered and accepted the job.

Key to the success of this recruitment process and subsequent appointment was the support and advice offered to the candidate in the handling of his transition from his then current employer to his new role.   A move to another employer within the same competitive industry threw up its own set of potential problems and with careful guidance from Standley Associates the successful candidate was able to experience a near seamless transition to his new employer.

Standley Associates were subsequently thanked by both the MD and the candidate for their expertise and support during this potentially difficult transition phase.
