A well established and profitable company our client is a leading manufacturer of precision engineered components for a wide variety of industrial applications with a loyal and growing client base within the UK, mainland Europe and beyond.
Having undergone a period of major change and development and following investment in state of the art manufacturing plant/equipment a key part of their future expansion plans was to appoint a Non Exec Sales and Marketing Director to strengthen the main operating board and to play a leading role in the next stage of the company’s development.
The key purpose of this role was to establish the strategic direction of the sales and marketing function and to utilise their existing market knowledge and experience to influence domestic and international sales and marketing strategies.
Despite having engaged the services of a specialist NED recruitment organisation and having networked and made direct approaches to UK wide director level organisations, a significant period of time had elapsed without any suitable candidates having been submitted for consideration for this key role.
Following a presentation to the Chairman and Managing Director Standley Associates were appointed to carry out this recruitment. Having taken a full brief we employed our Targeted Resourcing Service (TRS) to locate and identify suitable qualified and experienced candidates for this key role.
Within a three month period from having commenced the recruitment, we had submitted a total of five potential candidates for the role, all of whom were interviewed by the client with two taken forward to second interview with the Board, the successful candidate being offered and commencing his new role almost immediately.
