Our client works with parametric configuration. It develops rules-based software to draw spaces in 2D and 3D for leading companies within the commercial furniture, kitchen, and material handling industries. In the background, prices and configurations are automatically calculated.

It is a global company with customers in 10 countries and users in more than 100. The company is headquartered in Linköping (Sweden) with four wholly owned subsidiaries in Grand Rapids (Michigan, USA), Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), Shenzhen (China), Berlin (Germany) and a small office in Gothenburg (Sweden).

As our client’s growth speed is set to continue apace, it is now on the hunt for a committed Senior Business Development Manager to strengthen its European based team.

To further its expansion plans in Germany the company is now looking for a dynamic and experienced

Senior Business Development Manager – Material Handling

to be based in South Germany, initially working from a Home Office and reporting to the Global Head of Sales – Material Handling, based at the Head Office in Sweden.

Scope of role

The role of the Business Development Manager is focused on sourcing and closing sales opportunities and finding prospects within the Material Handling industry. Additionally, the Business Development Manager should have a strong knowledge of customer processes as well as knowledge of managing sales processes.


Extensive experience within the Material Handling Industry, preferable in a sales or solution engineer role essential.

Experience of selling software solutions into the Material Handling industry essential, as are live contacts with industry related System Integrators, Storage, and other Manufacturers.

Experience of writing and negotiating contracts

Experience of working to long sales cycles

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Natural team player showing genuine commitment to the team goals and always open to help other team members.

Hands-on mentality with a great capacity for work

Willing and able to work remotely

Ability and willingness to travel

Fluency in German and a good standard of English essential


Uncover prospect’s and proactively engage your industry vertical

Facilitate demonstrations in real time with prospective customers

Connect with prospective clients via cold calling and warm leads

Uncover needs and business goals to determine whether our solution fits their needs.

Act as the subject matter expert for our customers by maintaining a well-rounded understanding of our Sales proposition (products and services).

Educate prospects on our product offerings and make recommendations that align with their business needs.

Lead solution development efforts that best address customer needs while coordinating the involvement of all necessary team players.

Work closely with Account Managers and internal Production Team

Attend industry events and trade fairs.

Lead large scale RFPs.

Utilise and maintain our CRM system.

Contribute to the improvement of our sales processes.

Follow the market and industry trends to further anticipate clients’ needs and provide education.
